The Toronto Principals’ Centre presents a one day Institute to explore and reflect on recent research and promising practices in Character Development.
Come as a school leader or, better yet, bring your leadership team.
This institute recognizes and honours character development initiatives currently in place in TDSB schools and provides an opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding of the promise of character development.
Participants will:
- Review the key components and principles of character development and the links to academic achievement.
- Explore the depth and breadth of promising research-based practices.
- Expand their understanding of how to infuse
character development into school policies, practices, programs and interactions with students.
- Learn how to involve staff, students and the
community in character development initiatives.
- Learn how to deepen the involvement and participation of students in character development initiatives.
- Plan with their leadership team how to build on character education initiatives currently in place in schools to develop school-wide character education initiatives.
