PROGRAMTo equate discipline with punishment and consequences is a simplistic view that has led to an over reliance on punitive techniques.Instead we must look beyond trendy theories of "Classroom Management" to develop a school wide approach that increases time for teaching, treats parents as partners and minimizes reliance on punishment and suspension. This Institute will provide school leadership teams with the tools to create a respectful, responsive, co-operative learning environment. PRESENTERRon Morrish is a popular speaker and workshop leader at conferences around North America. He is the author of Secrets of Discipline: 12 Keys for Raising Responsible Children and With All Due Respect: Keys for Building Effective School Discipline.Ron is currently working with teachers in several jurisdictions to improve their skills for teaching children and youth to be responsible, co-operative and respectful.
