Join Heidi Gollert, Principal at TFS. She will speak to us from the dual perspective of Principal in the Independent System and in the TDSB as Principal at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate and Leaside High School. Previous to her role as Principal, Heidi worked as a Curriculum Consultant in French and French Immersion as well as an Equity and Leadership Development Officer. Heidi will also position the Principal’s role in the broader system perspective, drawing from her work for three years as Superintendent of Education for the NW4 Family of Schools.

Heidi, joined by a panel of her colleagues at TFS, will lead a discussion about leadership in the broad context of education -- as it pertains to school administrators, teachers, and students. She will shed light on the similarities and the differences between the public and the independent school systems in terms of curriculum in and out of the classroom, staffing, special education access and approaches, parent engagement, and connections to community partners and post-secondary institutions. Participants will learn about the value of professional sharing within a supportive and collegial network. Heidi and her colleagues will recount their own experiences, relay insights and respond to our queries. Join us for what promises to be an enlightening, on-location breakfast meeting!
