TOPIC

Single Gender Classes and the Gender Gap

Are single gender classes the solution to reducing the gender gap in literacy achievement in schools?

Join us for a lively conversation with Doug Trimble who, as principal of C.B. Stirling School, introduced single gender classes for grades 7 and 8 in September 2003. Doug will share his reasons for introducing them and the work of Brock University researchers to study the impact of choice on parents, students and teachers.

A teacher and principal for more than 30 years, Doug has been recognized for his Outstanding Contribution to Education by Readers Digest and by the Ministry of Education for “Exemplary Practices in Special Education.”
