Feminist, educator and physicist, Dr. Franklin is considered one of Canada's foremost advocates and practitioners of pacifism. The Ursula Franklin Reader: Pacifism as a Map is a comprehensive collection of her work and demonstrates a linkage across a range of subjects: the pursuit of peace and social justice, theology, feminism, environmental protection, education, government and citizen activism. Ursula Franklin is an experimental physicist, University Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, former board member of the National Research Council and the Science Council of Canada, the recipient of the Pearson Medal of Peace and a companion of the Order of Canada. She is the author of The Real World of Technology and delivered the prestigious Massey lectures in 1989. |
