DAVID BOUCHARD
Former Principal, Literacy Champion and
Award Winning Author of Children's Books

TOPIC
The Gift of Reading

A non-reader until adulthood, David fell in love with children's books one day when reading to an eighth grade class. David will argue that the way to increase literacy is through modeling. He believes that all adults who have contact with young children - parents, teachers and principals - must take an active role in turning children into avid readers.

Participants will leave with many suggestions for helping young people of all ages, from newborns to teens, to love books and reading and the confidence to face the literacy issues head on.

An author of more that 20 children's books, the essence of David's message can be found in his newly released book, The Gift of Reading.
